From the URI SNAP ED Program A new year is a great time to make healthy changes. As we age, it is important to focus on healthy habits that help our mental and physical health. It is never too late to start a new healthy habit!
Make healthy choices: Try adding one more serving of vegetables.
Exercise more often: Exercise lowers your risk for falls and chronic diseases.
Stay connected: Call or video chat with family and friends. Being social helps your mental health and lowers your risk of loneliness or social isolation.
Get quality sleep: 7 to 8 hours of sleep will help refresh your brain and give you energy.
Challenge your brain: Do more crossword puzzles, board games, arts and crafts, storytelling and computer activities.
