NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Proposed Zone Change
(1000 New London Avenue)
There will be a Public Hearing to consider a proposed amendment, Ordinance No. 7-20-04 to the Zoning Ordinance and the Official Zoning Map to change the zoning for certain property located on 1000 New London Avenue and known as Assessor’s Plat 15-1, Lot 9 and Assessor’s Plat 15-4, Lots 8 and 1706 (the “Property”) as zoned Mixed-Use Planned District (MPD). The subject properties are depicted on the enclosed map.
The applicant is requesting a change of zone for Assessor’s Plat 15-1, Lot 9 and Assessor’s Plat 15-4, Lots 8 and 1706 (the “Property”) from Mixed-Use Planned District (MPD) to Mixed Use Planned District- Major Alteration. The application states that the property is to be used for “Commercial and Residential”.
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 6:30 pm before the Ordinance Committee. An additional public hearing is included as part of the regular agenda for the meeting of the Cranston City Council on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. All hearings will be held at Cranston City Hall, Council Chamber, 869 Park Avenue of the City Council or via Zoom Webinar.
The matter will also be heard by the Planning Commission on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. All hearings will be held at Cranston City Hall Council Chamber, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI. or via Zoom. Notice is hereby given pursuant to R.I.L.G. 45-24-53.

Pursuant to R.I.G.L. 45-23-53(A)(5), these proposed regulations may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing, provided that any such alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of the public hearing.
