Hugh B. Bain Middle School held their annual Linda Santurri Community Pasta Dinner Night on Wednesday, March 21. The turnout was overwhelming with standing room only at times throughout the night. An annual event for more than 10 years now, the event raised $700 for the school's Relay for Life Team to benefit the Leukemia Society.
Principal Tom Barbieri thanked the crowd for their support and especially thanked his staff members for organizing and attending the event, noting that 90 percent of his staff was present that evening. Also present were members of the Cranston School Department's Central Office, the Cranston School Committee, the Cranston City Council, Mayor Allan Fung and Rhode Island's General Treasurer Gina Raimondo.
"This is a great community event. It's about food, fun and bringing people together. Enjoy yourself and enjoy the food," said Barbieri.
