Paplauskas works to 'beautify' Knightsville

On an early June 16 morning, volunteers showed up and were ready to work under the guidance of Chris Paplauskas, Councilman Ward 5 to clean up and beautify five different locations throughout the area.

“I wanted to start a tradition for our neighborhoods that got everyone working together to beautify the city,” said Paplauskas. “I enjoy bringing people together to tackle big projects like this. We couldn't accomplish any of this without volunteers and I'm so thankful that people took time out on a beautiful Saturday morning. There are always opportunities to make our community better and I hope anyone that would like to contribute in the future connects with me on Facebook, so we can keep in touch,” said Paplauskas.

At four of the locations, the Knightsville Gazebo Garden, Sivo Park Garden on Florida Ave., Knightsville Cranston Public Library Branch and William J. Flanders Park on Sherman Ave., volunteers weeded, planted flowers and mulched and at the final location, at the Knightsville sign, they dug a new bed and planted.
