Park Theater hosts inaugural KID CON

A little rain didn't deter event coordinator, Tara Williams from making the first KID CON a huge success.

With more than 600 tickets sold, The Historic Park Theater and Event Space was packed with families walking through the 50,000 square foot Cranston landmark.

Quick thinking and team work, allowed Williams to bring several of the outdoor attractions inside.

One most notably was the petting zoo; Tarkland Hill Farm from Burrillville, RI.

Anna the goat, Frankie the pig and bunny Foo Foo were all greeted with smiles and hugs from the children.

The other vendors who were at KID CON included;

Keeping Kids Fishing, CCAP, Molar Express, Author Will Smith, Color St. nail products, Sue Greco Paints, Debbie's Decor, Momentum, The Bubbler Virtual Reality, Girl Scouts of RI, Archery Games PVD, Restaurant, Menard CPR Training, Core Speech Therapy LLC, Creatigo LLC, Arabella Bowtique, BL Custom Designs, Ashley's Sweet Shoppe, Tuckered Tots Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Wild Child Rental Company, American Ballet Academy, No More Goodbyes, Sophie's Paints, Fawn & Cub Play space, Debbie's Decor, Royal Characters, Tiny & Craftie, Mama Enchanted, Shirley Henriksen; Creative Chi and My Learning Tree.

“We are so grateful and humbled at the number of people who came out to join us at our first Kids Con last Saturday. We look forward to continuing to host many events that engage the community, create smiles and show off our beautifully restored building,” Said Ed Brady owner of the Historic Park Theater and Event Space.

There were many opportunities for parents and kids to take a break from all the hubbub in the building and take in a show in the big, main theater.

Entertainers included; Barry the Magician, Judi T Dance Studio, Story time with Marc Colagiovanni, Karate Demo - Mastery Martial Arts, Princess Sing Alongs - Royal Characters, American Ballet Academy and CPR training with Gabriel Menard.

Highlight of the entertainment was Bluey, a character from Australian TV, which airs on the Disney Channel.

"It was such a great day even after having to pivot the whole event to indoors.

All the kiddos had an amazing time and asked when it can happen again so I think it’s safe to say - KidsCon will be back," said Williams.
