Todd Patalano today announced his candidacy for State Senate in District 26 (Cranston). Patalano, age 51, is a Democrat and has resided and worked in Cranston and most notably Senate District 26 his entire life. He is married to Gina Patalano, and they have three children, Jason, Justin, and Jared.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to serve the residents of Cranston in a new capacity,” said Patalano. “I love this city and look forward to ensuring that it remains safe, affordable, and the kind of place where our kids get a great education, and our seniors can enjoy their golden years.”

Todd has been a member of the Cranston Police Department since 1995 and has risen through the ranks of the police department and currently serves as the Major “second in command.” He has worked at every level of the department and made significant and noteworthy impacts to improve public safety, and bridge positive relationships with the community. Before becoming a police officer, Todd proudly worked at his family’s business in the Arlington section of the City for many years.

He has been a consummate volunteer in the district and proudly boasts his time as a coach, volunteer, former board member in Cranston West Little League (“CWLL”) — Todd was inducted into the CWLL Hall of Fame for his excellence. He can be seen coaching our youth in basketball at CLCF and is a member of Holy Apostles Church.

Todd holds a Master of Science Degree from Roger Williams University School of Justice Studies - Executive Law Enforcement program and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Roger Williams University - Administration of Justice program. He is also a graduate of the Command Training Series for Executive Development from Roger Williams University.

He made the decision to run for office to uphold the quality-of-life residents deserve.

Todd is grateful for the many years of distinguished service offered by Senator Lombardi and hopes to continue his legacy of deep caring and investment in the community.
