Cranston Herald photographer Barbara Polichetti captured a few snapshots from last Wednesday’s launch of the Garden City Summer Concert Series.
Hundreds of people set up blankets and chairs around the gazebo at the Garden City Shopping Center last week for summer series’ first show, which featured dueling pianos.
The ivory-tickling inspired concert-goers to their feet. They danced to the tunes that ranged from classic rock to contemporary pop.
The series, sponsored by Bank Newport and Del’s Lemonade, consists of four performances this year, with concerts scheduled the next three consecutive Wednesdays at the Gazebo, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
The lineup for the remaining shows includes:
July 31 – XS Band (pop, top 40, dance)
Aug. 7 – Big Lux (Hip-hop, bluegrass, jazz)
Aug. 14 – East Coast Soul (classic soul, funk, R&B)
