Plan commission continues Natick Solar talks to next month

Posted

The Cranston Plan Commission held a special meeting on Monday night to review the master plan for the building of a solar farm by Natick Avenue Solar and to hear opinions from Cranston residents.

"The Master Plan was approved by the City Plan Commission in 2019 and appealed to the Platting Board which upheld the approval, but was subsequently appealed to the Superior Court," Planning Director Jason Pezzullo said. "The Preliminary Plan and Final Plans were also approved by the City Plan Commission as well as staff, and those approvals were also appealed to the Superior Court."

Attorney Patrick Dougherty spoke on behalf of Cranston residents who oppose the building of the solar farm and wind turbines on the 64-acre site. After four hours of discussion the plan commission decided to vote to reconvene discussion next month on April 19.
