NO CONTACT ORDER VIOLATION
At 2:53 p.m., Sept. 23, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jorge Salmeron, 25, of 30 Grotto Ave., Pawtucket, for Violation of a No Contact Order (third or subsequent offense) after an affidavit warrant pick up from 6th District Court. Salmeron was held as a probation or parole violator by the RI Attorney General’s Office and remanded to Men’s Intake at the ACI, according to Cranston Police.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
At 7:12 p.m., Sept. 23, Cranston Police Officers arrested Joshidis Torres, 40, of 27 Kneeland St., Cranston, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance at the aforementioned address. Torres was arraigned and released by a Justice of the Peace, according to Cranston Police.
SIMPLE ASSAULT & LARCENY
At 8:10 p.m., Sept. 23, Cranston Police Officers arrested David Manzi, 39, of 59 Azalea Drive, Cranston, for Simple Assault and Larceny as a result of a traffic stop on Oaklawn Avenue. Manzi was held as a probation or parole violator by the RI Attorney General’s Office and remanded to Men’s Intake at the ACI, according to Cranston Police.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
At 9:45 p.m., Sept. 23, Cranston Police Officers arrested Ralph Abenante, 43, of 50 Glenham Road, Cranston, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance at the aforementioned address. Abenante was arraigned and released by a Justice of the Peace, according to Cranston Police.
SHOPLIFTING
Around 3:29 p.m., Sept. 22, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jason Crudden, 40, of 23 Hubbard St., Cranston, for one misdemeanor count of Shoplifting. The arrest was the result of a larceny in progress call at Stop & Shop, 204 Garfield Ave. Crudden was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Around 4:55 p.m., Sept. 22, Cranston Police Officers arrested Olivia Taylor, 22, of 93 Main St., Apt. A, Cranston, for one count of Domestic Violence-Simple Assault/Battery and one count of Domestic Violence-Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a disturbance call at the aforementioned address. Taylor was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
At 10:33 p.m., Sept. 20, Cranston Police Officers arrested Teyonsea Caquias, 18, of 87 Sterling Ave., 3rd Floor, Providence, for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Simple Assault.
At the same time and place, Cranston Police Officers also arrested Yaltsin Anicet, 32, of 191 Elm St., Apt. 2, New Bedford, Mass., for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Simple Assault.
The arrests were the result of a call about a disturbance at McDonalds, 923 Cranston St. Both Caquias and Anicet were awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
At 12:21 a.m., Sept. 21, Cranston Police Officers arrested Carson Pierre Louis, 50, of 34 Bain St., Cranston, for First Degree Sexual Assault. The arrest was the result of a call for service in the area of 1686 Cranston St . Louis was awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.
WARRANT ARREST
At 9:06 p.m., Sept. 18, Cranston Police Officers arrested Hugo Gomez, 34, of 189 Narragansett Ave., Providence, for a 3rd District Court Bench Warrant as a result of a traffic stop on Reservoir Avenue. Gomez was transported to Men’s Intake at the ACI.
COUNTERFEIT NOTE
At 1 p.m., Sept. 17, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jesse Pagliarini, 25, of 48 Chestnut Hill Ave., Cranston, for Passing a Counterfeit Bill/Note. The arrest was the result of a previous incident and an outstanding Cranston Police Warrant. Pagliarini was transported to 3rd District Court, according to Cranston Police.
DEATH INVESTIGATION
On Aug. 25, Cranston Police investigated an incident at the Econo Lodge, 101 New London Ave., where a man was found dead. According to Cranston Police Maj. Todd Patalano, “the RI Medical Examiner has found no foul play in the death of the male subject and it is ruled as a self-inflicted death.” According to Cranston Police on Sept. 30, the “case is now closed” and “no further information will be released.”
STABBING INVESTIGATION
Warwick Police investigated the report of a stabbing and ended up arresting the alleged stabbing victim.
At 5:27 p.m., Sept. 21, Warwick Police went to 1 Willow Glen Circle for “a reported stabbing,” according to a press release.
“Officers located the resident, Anna Pereira, age 32, with superficial wounds to her arms and leg,” according to police.
A 48-year-old man was also found at the location. He was detained and briefly questioned, according to police.
The man was “also injured during the disturbance, sustaining an edema to the head and other injuries from being struck by a baseball bat and other objects,” according to police. “He declined medical attention from Warwick Fire EMS at the scene.”
Pereira was transported to Rhode Island Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries and was later released into police custody.
“The investigation established that Ms. Pereira’s injuries were self-inflicted,” police wrote in the Sept. 21 press release. “She is being held for a special arraignment for Assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.”
