A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinances will be held before the Ordinance Committee on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 869 Park Avenue, City Hall, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter, in accordance with the RI General Laws Chapter 45-24-53 for the purpose of considering the following items listed on the agenda.  Remote participation is also available by using the logon information provided below as posted on the City’s website at www.cranstonri.gov and Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ri.gov.

PROPOSED ORD. NO. 8-23-01 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10, CHAPTER 12 OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON CODE OF ORDINANCES, 2005, ENTITLED
“Vehicles and Traffic”
Dyer Avenue Pedestrian Activated Signal

It is Ordained by the City of Cranston City Council as follows:

    Section 1.  Chapter 10.12, Section 200 is hereby amended by adding the following:

10.12.200 - Traffic control signal lights authorized at certain intersections—Pedestrian actuated.

Traffic proceeding along the following streets is directed to stop when a pedestrian actuates the signal system:

    Cranston Street at a point thirty (30) feet north of its intersection with Puritan Avenue.

    Cranston Street, at the entrance to the Cranston Senior Services Center.

    Dyer Avenue, at a point approximately (150) feet north of its intersection with Old Oak Avenue.

    Midway Road, at the entrance of 100 Midway Road.

    Park Avenue at its intersection with Sunset Terrace.

    Pontiac Avenue at its intersection with Colonial Avenue.

    Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
