Irma E. Raymond (Siniscalchi) 88, of Warwick, passed away at the West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 4, 2023. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Raymond. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Secondo and Emilia (Amore) Siniscalchi.
After graduating from West Warwick High School, class of 1953, Irma went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Rhode Island College. Irma was a dedicated fourth grade educator in the Warwick School System, teaching most of her 25 years at the Holliman Elementary School before retiring in 2000. Irma took great satisfaction in guiding and mentoring these young students in helping them to achieve many successes throughout their lives. After retiring, she continued to volunteer her time as a mentor to students. She also was an accomplished piano player, enjoyed arts & crafts, gardening, walking and traveling. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and the Pilgrim Senior Center.
She was the mother of Michele L. Poy and her husband Steven, Chris J. Raymond and his wife Delia Hall, all of Warwick, and Alexis E. Raymond and her husband Richard Pratt of Sacramento, CA. She was the grandmother of Nakayla Raymond, Alyssa Raymond and her wife Val Raymond, and Nora Hall; and the great-grandmother of Audrey and Sophie. Irma was the sister of Linda Bisignani of West Warwick, Bruno Siniscalchi of Tamworth, NH and the late Dr. Frank Siniscalchi and Secondo Siniscalchi.
At the family’s request, interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Coventry was private. A Celebration of Irma’s life will be on a later date. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT in Coventry. iannottifh.com
