In a matter related to a recent series of Thanksgiving weekend home break-ins in the Edgewood section of Cranston, a resident was arrested for allegedly obstructing police in their investigation.
According to a police report, Louis Richard Feinstein, 21, of 41 Alhambra Circle, was arrested on Thanksgiving night when he refused to leave the Fay Field recreational area despite requests from police. Officers were searching the area after a report of a house break on nearby Malvern Ave.
Police, including a K-9 unit, had just begun searching the wooded recreational area at about 9:40 PM when a patrol officer spotted Feinstein walking his dog.
The patrol officer said that despite being told that he needed to exit the area immediately, Feinstein refused to leave. He was taken into custody and charged with one count of obstructing a police officer in the execution of duty, the report states.
Feinstein was arrested without incident.
