Rhode Island College took the top three spots in the weight throw and five of the top eight scores as the women’s track and field team competed at the Bowdoin College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
RIC placed third (seven teams) with a team score of 69.50. Bowdoin finished first with a team score of 232.0.
Junior Chelsea Yang (Warwick) finished first in the weight throw (18.10m). Sophomore Georgerinna Farley (Providence) finished second in the weight throw (14.93m) and ninth in the shot (9.57m).
Graduate Oluwafunmibi Yusuff (Providence) finished third in the weight throw (14.09m) and fourth in the shot (11.15m).
Senior Jamie Dobson (Bradford) placed seventh in the weight throw (12.46m). Freshman Venecia Mills (Providence) placed eighth in the weight throw (12.30m).
Sophomore Trinity Hayes (Providence) placed second in the 60m (8.21) and sixth in the 200m (27.09). Senior Chevell Burgess (Providence) finished second in the triple jump (10.44m) and seventh in the 60m hurdles (10.47).
Freshman Katheryn Biliouris (West Warwick) placed 10th in the 200m (27.97). Junior Bryana Mullin (Warwick) finished third in the 600m (1:43.83).
Freshman Alissiana Folco (Woonsocket) finished fifth in both the 60m hurdles (10.23) and the long jump (4.50m). Freshman Julia Kershaw (North Kingstown) placed fifth in the triple jump (8.88m), sixth in the high jump (1.31m) and seventh in the long jump (4.06m).
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Smith Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 18.
