Paul Louis Roberti, 72, of East Providence RI passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends at Miriam Hospital on September 29, 2024.

Born December 14,1951, in Providence to the late Louis and Teresa Roberti, Paul grew up in Warwick. He graduated from Pilgrim High School and Rhode Island College. Paul later received his Master's Degree in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama. He lived most of his life in East Providence RI.  

Paul was a former teacher and athletic trainer at Newton Country Day of the Sacred Heart in Newton, MA. 

Paul was an avid athlete. He played and taught tennis and was an impressive triathlete. After a tragic accident while participating in a tri-athletic event in 2003, Paul suffered a spinal cord injury which left him a paraplegic. Despite his disability, Paul’s spirit for life never wavered. He continued to enjoy fly fishing, participated in competitive fencing and archery. He loved to travel and visited  Europe and Iceland. Paul hosted a public access show called Senior Journal. He created and implemented a program for schools around the area entitled “Overcoming Adversity “. 

Paul had a great eye for photography. He photographed sailboat races from chartered helicopters and on board sailing boats among other interests. His photos were featured art exhibits around the area. Paul will be remembered for his sense of style (bow ties included),his infectious smile  and laugh, and his zest for life. 

Paul is survived by his loving brother, Stephen Roberti (Judi), his former wife Susan Monteleone who remained his best friend throughout his life, and his companion Francisca Ines de Siqueira all of whom never left his side throughout his illness. He is predeceased by his son, Brendan.  

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00AM-11:00AM.
