The Cranston East football team picked up its first win of the season by topping visiting Central Falls 28-6 last week. It was the team’s highest-scoring game offensively while it was also its best defensive game as well.
The Bolts will move on to face Mt. Hope this Friday for another home game.
Barrington 28, West 21
Despite taking a 21-14 lead into halftime, the Cranston West football team was unable to seal the deal as host Barrington ran away with a 28-21 win in a big Division I showdown.
West quarterback Kelan Cornell rushed for a touchdown in the loss, which drops the Falcons to 2-3 overall. West will hit the road again to take on Central this Saturday afternoon before wrapping up the regular season against La Salle at home the following Friday.
BOYS SOCCER
West 2, East Providence 1
The Falcons held off the Townies to pick up a much-needed win in Division I. Alejandro Molina and Gabriel Fajardo scored for West while keeper Jack Payne finished with three saves in net.
North Providence 6, East 0
The Bolts were shut out last week against the Cougars. Alvaro Ortega-Reyes finished with 10 saves in net for East.
