The Cranston East girls tennis team edged Woonsocket 5-2 on Monday to clinch its first win of the fall season.
Kieran Fisher took home a win at first singles while Thora Corcoran won at second singles. Isabel Sigler then earned a win in the fourth singles spot for the Bolts.
Madelyn Hart and Jolie Lin took home a victory at first doubles for East, followed by a win by Cassidy Stewart and Grace Michaelson at third doubles.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Mt. Hope 3, East 1
The Bolts fell in a crossover meeting last week. Angellina Saing led East with 24 digs while Maria Rosario Avila racked up 10 assists in the loss.
BOYS SOCCER
Portsmouth 1, West 0
The Falcons were shut out by the Patriots last Saturday afternoon. Jack Payne had a strong outing in net for West, finishing with 10 saves.
East 1, Toll Gate 0
The Bolts shut out the Titans on Saturday afternoon. Michael Ogunmola scored East’s lone goal while keeper Saeed Sorio picked up the win in net by racking up five saves.
GIRLS SOCCER
EWG 2, East 1
Tia Sanzaro picked up the Bolts’ lone goal while Natalie Urizar recorded an assist in the loss to Exeter-West Greenwich. Isabella finished the day with eight saves in net.
