The Cranston East boys volleyball team has been the state’s hottest team as of late and got another statement win when it cruised to a 3-0 sweep over La Salle.
Larry Yin finished with 13 digs while Charles Pincince added 10 kills to go along with Charles Lora’s eight. Caleb Xum finished with 21 assists as well. It was East’s ninth straight victory.
West 3, Woonsocket 0
The Falcons continued to roll with a 3-0 win over the Villa Novans on Monday. Chris Harvey finished with 10 kills and Ashton Mak racked up 25 assists.
BASEBALL
East 5, Cumberland 3
The Bolts picked up a win over the defending champs on Monday.
Jayden Tolentino paced the East offense with two home runs and four RBI while Jerusalen Leon drove in another. John Devine got the win on the mound, tossing 5 2/3 innings and allowing just one run while recording eight strikeouts.
Coventry 4, West 3
The Oakers edged the Falcons in a DI battle. Nick DiLorenzo drove in a run for West.
BOYS LACROSSE
East Providence 12, East/Johnston 0
East/Johnston goalie Alex Fedorchuk finished with 12 saves in the cage for the Thundercats.
