RSVP recognizes its ranks

Hundreds of senior citizens involved in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at Cranston Senior Services were recognized at a luncheon at the West Valley Inn. Mayor Allan Fung brought greetings from the city of Cranston and a free raffle was held for all volunteers. RSVP volunteers work at the Senior Center and throughout the community on a daily basis. RSVP matches volunteers over the age of 55 with more than 80 non-profit organizations in Cranston in need of help from their community. Volunteers are placed according to their skills, life experiences and interests. There is an opportunity for everyone. RSVP offers support to volunteers by offering meals, insurance, transportation and recognition. Call 780-6180 for more information. (Herald photos by Meri R. Kennedy and Steve Popiel)
