The gazebo in Garden City is used for many things. Some may see it as a nice place to sit in the shade on a hot day, others may think of it as a concert venue, but for this intrepid group it is the starting point of their run.

About five years ago a group called the Lululemon runners initiated the tradition of meeting at the gazebo to begin their run. Since then the group has grown and changed. Now known as RunRhodeIsland, the group still joins for the Lululemon run every Tuesday at 6 p.m., for those looking to join the group on their route.

What if you aren’t free on Tuesday, you ask? Well don’t worry.

This is just one of the runs the group organizes. Those looking for other groups to join so they have company on their own runs can find more members of RunRhodeIsland under that very name on both Facebook and Instagram. All are welcome for the group’s weekly run. This photo, taken on August 1, shows a few of the runners who gather at the gazebo regularly. Pictured left to right are Aaron O’Brien, Suzanne Tanner, Greg Morell (back three), Lauren Anderson, Catie Runyon and Ashley Ciocci.  (Herald photo by Steve Popiel)
