About 160 feet of docks built by Mike Miller in Oakland Beach were towed up the bay last Thursday night to their home at Edgewood Yacht Club. The docks were fitted into place Friday, and now crews will install electrical wiring and plumbing, chaffing gear and decking. Club Commodore George Shuster of Warwick said opening day ceremonies are still set for May 16, but given the coronavirus pandemic, “I’m not sure what that means.” With the new docks and a new clubhouse that replaced the one that burned in a winter fire in 2011, Shuster said “we’ve never been in better shape” and “we’re ahead of schedule.” He said the latest improvements, which was directed by “master of the dock project,” Ted Westcott, cost $60,000.
