This past Saturday, children and families joined in the seasonal fun at Jocks Horse Farm, located at 504 Laten Knight Road in Cranston. Attendees also had the chance to meet adoptable animals through Friends of Homeless Animals RI (fohari.org) and Rhode Home Rescue (rhodehomerescue.org).
Along with pony rides, children enjoyed face painting, scarecrow making, food and beverages, and entertainment provided by Danny Tuirok.
“I am happy to provide a beautiful location to showcase these special and adoptable rescue dogs, cats and other critters and be able to give back to the Cranston community,” said Ange Caparco, owner of Jocks Horse Farm.
“When rescue groups work together, more animals get adopted. We try and collaborate as often as possible. It’s all about finding wonderful homes for such deserving animals and all proceeds go to the rescues,” said Beckie Paniccia from Friends of Homeless Animals.
More than 200 people showed up, and in an addition to dogs and cats that were adopted, two pairs of guinea pigs got adopted. Many people signed up to volunteer and foster. There was a lot of education given about rescue dogs and how rescue works. People also donated items, food, blankets and toys.
