Rhode Island avoided a direct his from Tropical Storm Isaias last week, although the heavy rains and strong winds it briefly brought through the area led to widespread – and in some cases, extended – power outages in the city. Downed trees and limbs were a common sight, including outside St. Mark’s Church in Garden City, where this statue of Mary was spared a direct impact from the fallen debris.
