There was a Gaspee Days ecumenical service, preceded by a mini parade of sorts on Saturday, but generally speaking there wasn’t a Gaspee Days celebration this year due to the virus. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be Gaspee keepsakes from 2020. The committee sold apparel Thursday from the Aspray Boathouse and on Friday those participating in the virtual Gaspee 5K picked up their T-shirts. Displaying his 5K shirt is Jeff Cavallo, who runs Haven Fitness in Pawtuxet Village. He planned to run the course for the 5K although he could have chosen to bike it, paddle it or even do it on a treadmill. Showing off one of the creative sayings that went into apparel is Gaspee Days Committee chair Gina Dooley. (Warwick Beacon photos)
