The University of Rhode Island women’s ice hockey team is off to a strong start this season and is currently in the middle of a threegame winning streak.
Leading the way for the Rams is Cranston native Abbi Sampson, who recently led URI to a 4-1 win over the University of Utah with a pair of goals and an assist. URI also defeated UConn in a 7-3 victory while also picking up a 5-0 win over Boston University in the opener.
Sampson currently leads the team in scoring with two goals and three assists. URI will next square off against Salve Regina on both Friday night and Saturday afternoon with both games scheduled to be played at the Boss Arena.
