Silence the Gunfire in Meshanticut this Good Friday

Posted

An Open Letter to Mayor Hopkins and Council President Marino:

This week is the most sacred in the Christian calendar, traditionally a time for prayer and reflection. Instead, the residents of Meshanticut are experiencing deafening and harmful gunfire, a situation that has persisted every Holy Week since 2020, with Good Friday being the most egregious. The relentless salvos on Good Friday mimic a war zone.

I pose this question to the Mayor and the Council President: Will you use the power of your office to bring an end to this insanity?

I live in Meshanticut, I can see Western Hills Middle School from my property. I'm fine with the CPD range being where it is. I will agree that on Good Friday and some other holidays the range should be closed for firearms practice.
