Having surpassed the 600 threshold for preorders to start production, Gaspee Days Committee Charity Plates will start appearing on cars on Saturday, Oct. 14. That’s the date when those who ordered and prepaid for the plates can pick them up from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gamm Theatre, 1245 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Those planning to pick up plates for a friend or family member should bring along a copy of the car’s registration and a photo ID. After Oct. 14, pre-paid plates can be picked up by appointment at the RIDMV. Twenty dollars of every $42.50 for the plate goes to support the Gaspee Days Committee’s annual festivities, including the Gaspee Days Parade, Arts and Crafts, Festival, music events, the Burning of the Gaspee and more. Now that the plate is in production, those who did not preorder them can order them directly from the RIMV website.
