Burlington Stores, the national off-price retailer, through its partnership with the national nonprofit organization AdoptAClassroom.org, has donated $10,000 toward school supplies to Cranston’s Stadium Elementary School.

The donation comes in celebration of Burlington’s new store, which opened March 6 at 296 Garfield Ave. in Cranston.

Representatives from Burlington presented the check to Stadium Principal Cheri Sacco during an assembly that took place on Feb. 27 at the school.

A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org recently contacted Cranston Public School administrators and helped to secure the donation for Stadium, which will provide each teacher with several hundred dollars in new supplies for their classroom.

According to Sacco, the teachers will be able to use the funds on new classroom items chosen from a virtual marketplace of nearly 30 education vendors provided through the donation program.

“We are humbled, excited and appreciative of the generous donation to our dedicated teaching staff. Thank you to our community partners at Burlington, AdoptAClassroom, and our school department for the support to continue to make every day the best we can for our students,” Sacco said.

Burlington is committed to supporting education, and through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, it donates funding to a local school in each grand opening market to celebrate a new store location.
