Marcus Stephenson, a longtime resident of Cranston’s Garden Hills area and owner of The Blind Guy Inc, is proud to announce his candidacy for School Committee Ward 6. With a steadfast commitment to the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, instilled since his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps in 1995, Marcus Stephenson is dedicated to preserving Cranston’s educational traditions, safeguarding the futures of our children and advocating for the voices of parents and teachers alike.

Marcus Stephenson and his wife, Sherri, have been pillars of the Cranston community for over two decades. Together, they have raised their two sons, Tyler and Mason, who attended Glenn Hills, Western Hills and graduated from Cranston West. Sherri is employed with the City of Providence, while Marcus Stephenson has successfully run The Blind Guy Inc on Oaklawn Ave.

“As a parent and business owner in Cranston, I understand the importance of a strong educational foundation for our children,” said Marcus Stephenson. “I am committed to ensuring that our schools provide the highest quality education, foster a safe and supportive environment and prepare our students for a successful future.”

Marcus Stephenson’s campaign will focus on three primary goals:

  1. Preserving Cranston’s Educational Traditions: Upholding the rich history and high standards of Cranston’s schools.
  2. Safeguarding Children’s Futures: Ensuring all students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them for college, careers and life.
  3. Advocating for Parents and Teachers: Providing a platform for parents and teachers to voice their concerns and ideas, ensuring their perspectives shape our schools’ future.

“I believe in the power of community and the difference that engaged, passionate leadership can make in our schools,” Marcus Stephenson continued. “I am eager to work collaboratively with parents, teachers and the community to create an environment where every student can thrive.”
