As part of a longstanding tradition, football players from both Cranston High School East and Cranston High School West work as one team to deliver Thanksgiving meals to seniors who are homebound in the community. On the day before Thanksgiving, 250 holiday meals were delivered.
Last year, more than 250 seniors enjoyed a delicious Christmas meal. This year, the city’s Department of Senior Services needs help to deliver these meals to seniors in the community. Meals will be delivered Dec. 23 starting at 10 a.m., and can be picked up in the dining room of the Cranston Enrichment Center at 1070 Cranston St.
Anyone interested in helping to deliver the meals is asked to contact Karen Porto at 780-6159 or kporto@cranstonri.org. Please include your name, address and phone number in a voicemail message or email.
