To the editor,
If someone offered you a risk free 3.5 million dollar business opportunity would you take it? Of course you would. Risk is inherent in every business deal. You take on debt in hopes of a bigger payoff. To bail out the owners of the unprofitable park theatre is unfathomable to me. Why should taxpayers pay a premium for a location that has proven to be a liability and not an asset? We should wait for the Park to go to bankruptcy and buy it then or find another location for whatever these federal dollars are for. Cranston should not be in the theatre business and it should not be bailing out private businesses. Enough of this old style RI politics - I thought maybe we moved on from that!
