To The Pointe of Performing Arts

At times like this, when it seems like nothing is the same ~ and everything has changed ~ we look to the “constants” in our lives to give us a sense of normalcy.  For many of the students who dance at To The Pointe of Performing Arts, the return to dancing and creative movement is not only critical to that feeling of “normalcy,” it is indeed “essential.”

 For Sheri Masiello, the owner of To The Pointe dance studios, it is more important than ever to keep things going for her students.  While many of her dancers are experiencing a great sense of loss right now, she wants them to know she is still there for them – just like she always has been.

 As soon as the restrictions on non-essential businesses were announced, Sheri and her talented team of instructors went right to work to find a way to keep their many students dancing and feeling the joy they felt when in studio. They have since created “virtual” classes which are held at the same time the “live” classes would have been held. The dance instructors who taught those classes continue to teach those classes, all of which can be accessed through “Zoom” technology.

The virtual classes offered at To The Pointe include Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary.  All ages from creative movement to seniors (and everything in between) are welcome to participate. There is something for anyone here at these longstanding studios.

Classes are taught by the staff of twenty instructors who have long been part of the team at To The Pointe, many of whom have been there since the studios first opened. Sheri and her devoted team wanted to keep this virtual experience as “typical” as possible so students will continue to see their favorite instructors right in the forefront where they belong.

At this time of year, dance students are usually busy getting ready for their end-of-the-year, June recital where they showcase a year’s worth of diligence, discipline and dedication.  There is still hope that the recital will go forward, so Sheri and her team will focus on techniques and choreography in preparation.

College-bound high school seniors who would be normally preparing for the last recital of their “childhood” years will still be recognized with a “Senior Spotlight” page on studio’s website ~ though it is far from the real thing, it is an important gesture for those who have worked so hard.

Dancers, both new and ongoing, can pay tuition online. The same rates will apply, but in this time of economic hardship, contact Sheri with any questions you may have.
