Susan Tracy, of Van Buren, ME and Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 69 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Fay M. (Anderson) Tracy. Susan leaves brothers, Paul and his wife, Sheila of Somerville, MA and David of Van Buren, ME, sister Carol and her husband Gary Zoccolante of Plymouth, MA and brother Christopher and his wife, Martha of Cranston, RI. She was the loving aunt of Ian, Chelsea, Christine, Patrick, Michael, Matthew and Kyle.
Susan was born in Cranston, RI, graduated Cranston High School East (Class of 1972) and became a skilled mechanic in aerospace, medical, textile and jewelry manufacturing at the Davol Rubber Company, Speidel, Taco Industries and Phoenix Electric, to name a few. From an early age she had an abiding admiration of all things antique. She was the proprietor of Fiskeville Woodworks, established in an historic grange hall in western Cranston, where her love of furniture restoration flourished as she mastered veneering and wood finishing techniques. Among her favorite designs were refinished antique oak “ice boxes”, creatively converted to consoles as home stereos became the rage. She loved her dogs, cats, rabbits and ducks, who shared the grange hall with her through the years.
Susan was kind and gentle to all. She made friendships easily and forever brought laughter to our days.
She is sorely missed. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Burial will be private.
