Walter R. “Walt” Vest

Age 69, a lifelong resident of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2023. 

Walt served his country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. A skilled worker and inventor by nature, he designed and engineered the first quarter folding machine. Walt owned and operated XQF, Inc. (company explanation). He held many professional trade licenses throughout his lifetime. Walt worked alongside his son at AAA Fire Protection, a job he deeply enjoyed. He furthered his interest in fire protection and became certified in hydro testing fire extinguishers and worked for Metro Fire Protection. Walt was also the owner of the former Club Good Times. He was a hard-working, self-made man who was generous, had a heart of gold, and was loved by many. 

Walter was the son of the late Walter C. and Joan V. (Parenti) Vest; loving father of Jason E. Vest (Becky Manzo); caring brother of Deborah G. Jackman, Mildred M. Murphy, and the late Sue Ellen Jackman; former husband of Donna Vest; step-father of Danielle Burns (husband, Jeffery); devoted grandfather of Zachary Vest, Andrew Vest, and Cameron Vest; step-grandfather of Destiny Burns, and Jeffery Burns, Jr. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. His burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
