Who’s who, who’s new in Cranston Public Schools: Rhodes welcomes new principal

At the elementary level in Cranston Public Schools this year, there is a new principal at E.S. Rhodes Elementary School.

Erica Stackhouse has joined the team of administrators after teaching sixth grade at George J. Peters Elementary School for five years and teaching in the Sanders self-contained special education program in grades nine through 12 for six years before that.

Stackhouse has an undergraduate degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in school counseling and a master’s of education degree in school leadership. She is a lifelong Cranston resident and a product of the Cranston Public Schools herself, graduating from Cranston High School West in 1997.

Stackhouse also comes from a long line of family members who work or have worked in Cranston’s schools, and is excited to be joining their ranks.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do,” she said of her new position as principal of Rhodes. “In this position I can still work with children and families, just at a different level.”
