Wickford Art Association opens National Photography Exhibit, announces winners

Oct. 23 marked the opening of the Wickford Art Association’s National Photography Exhibit.

With over 200 entries from across the U.S., the exhibit consists of 78 works representing varied photographic techniques, subjects, and presentation styles. The curated works and prizes were determined by New England-based visual storyteller David Helfer Wells (www.davidhwells.com).

The exhibit will be accessible in-gallery through Nov. 15. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m.

A virtual gallery will be posted to the exhibit’s webpage, wickfordart.org/annual-photography-exhibit-2.

First Prize

“BLM: The Things They Carried” by Kim Williams (West Virginia), Digital Print

Second Prize

“Into Dreamland” by Michael Potts (Arizona), Digital Archival Print

Third Prize

“Self Portrait as Housewife (Who He Wanted Me to Be)” by Lily Colman (Pennsylvania), Digital C-print)

Honorable Mentions

“Burning It Up” by John Pitocco (Rhode Island), Photography, and “Covid Isolation” by Jean Duffy (Rhode Island), Photography

Judge’s Awards
