2 Sista’s & Family Restaurant & Catering draws many Edgewood fans

This cozy little restaurant sits behind the Al-Mall Mini Mall at 41 Warwick Ave. in Cranston’s Edgewood section, hiding its many charms from the busy main road.

Tonya and Sabrina Dimezza are the 2 “sistas” who run the breakfast/lunch establishment, along with help from their mom, Barbara, and a distant cousin.

They have been there for two and a half years, but recent positive postings on social media and word of mouth have brought them new customers this summer.

The sistas used to run a hot dog cart in Warwick, and still use the cart for special events.

Breakfast and lunch are served from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, with dinner offered on Friday nights.

The menu is extensive and runs from the basic two eggs, toast and home fries ($3.99) to the eclectic soul food luncheons.

I enjoyed a breakfast recently of two eggs over easy, toasted Italian bread, a huge order of deliciously seasoned home fries, plus two huge pieces off ham off the bone. ($9.99)

It was more than I could handle, but the ham and potatoes tasted even better the next day.

Burgers, chicken and waffles, tacos, pancakes, French toast, omelets, a variety of sandwiches, plus daily specials bring their loyal customers back frequently.

Like the former J.P.Spoonems, it’s an “Everybody Knows Your Name” kind of place.

I dropped in the day before they were taking their summer vacation, and Momma handed me a loaf of her freshly baked banana bread. I brought it home to share with Joyce. We ate the whole thing!

The sistas are active in the community, recently joining another business to provide backpacks for back-to-school kids. They are planning something special for Thanksgiving.

It is encouraging to see another women-owned entrepreneurship succeed in Rhode Island and know that there are places like 3 Sista’s where you can feel welcome AND find delicious “home cookin.’”

The phone number for the restaurant and catering business is 442-8004.
