PROPOSED ORDINANCE 06-24-01 ALLOCATING $2,500,000 FROM THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING SCHOOL PROJECTS, UPGRADING CITY OF CRANSTON AND CLCF PROPERTIES AND PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SMALL BUSINESSES
It is Ordained by the City of Cranston City Council as follows:
SECTION 1. That $2,500,000 be transferred (revenue replacement) from the American Rescue Plan Act Grant Fund to financially support Cranston small businesses, fund the purchase, upgrade, improvement, and renovation of City of Cranston school projects, storm water drainage, city recreational facilities and the CLCF facility property located at 970 Pontiac Ave, Cranston, RI as listed below.
Cranston Public School projects........$1,000,000
Local storm water street drainage projects........150,000
Small business grants........200,000
Brayton Park turf softball fields........1,100,000
CLCF facility parking lot........50,000
Total........$2,500,000
SECTION 2. All funding referenced is subject to American Rescue Plan Act (APRA) spending guidance. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in a forfeiture of funding allocation.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption

PROPOSED ORDINANCE 06-24-02 RATIFYING THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH IBPO (INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF POLICE OFFICERS), LOCAL UNION 301 (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2026)
It is Ordained by the City of Cranston City Council as follows:
Section 1. The City of Cranston has through its corporate officials, bargained collectively with the IBPO (International Brotherhood of Police Officers), Local 301, which is the certified bargaining representative of police officers; and the Union and the City of Cranston have reached an understanding that resulted in a Memorandum of Agreement (“Agreement”).
Section 2. That the Agreement in writing between the City of Cranston and the Local 301, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved by this City Council.
Section 3. That except as modified by the terms of the aforesaid Agreement, the City of Cranston shall retain all powers vested in it by law and its charter over the management, regulation and control of said city police officers.
Section 4. Any additional agreements, letters of understanding, contract addendums or modifications during the life of this collective bargaining agreement between the parties must be ratified by the City Council and comply with Charter Sec. 14.17.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
