Rhode Island’s average gas price is down one cent from last week averaging $2.14
per gallon. Monday’s price is 1one cent higher than a month ago and 39 cents cheaper than September 21, 2019. Rhode Island’s average gas price is 4 cents lower than the national average.
“The majority of state averages have pushed cheaper by a penny or two since last Monday. With the nation entering the fall driving season, which typically sees fewer road trips, a continued drop in demand will likely lead to pump prices continuing to decrease,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs.
AAA Northeast’s September 21 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be 1 cent lower than last week averaging $2.18
a gallon. Today’s national average price is the same as a month ago, and 48 cents cheaper than this day last year.
