Rev. Aidan Kelley, Woodridge Congregational Church’s new pastor, shared photos from a recent event held
with “friends at the First Korean Church of RI.”
Woodridge Congregational Church, at 546 Budlong Road in Cranston, has a partnership with the First
Korean Church of RI congregation that goes back to 1973.
“And it has become our tradition for our two congregations to worship together to celebrate World Communion
Sunday on the first Sunday in October, a service that celebrates the unity of people of faith across the world,”
Kelley wrote. “Our worship featured multicultural music sung with a unified choir, a traditional Korean percussion
instrument and flute; prayers in both English and Korean; a child-friendly story; and a shared Communion expressed
in both languages.”
“We continued the celebration of unity after worship by sharing a joy-filled potluck lunch with traditional Korean
foods and dishes representative of our many ethnic backgrounds at Woodridge,” Kelley wrote. “It was a beautiful experience
of diverse people coming together in shared faith and purpose, acknowledging that our differences are what
make us beautiful, and affirming that we are united by common bonds ... and good food!”
