Deborah Marie Pennacchia, 59, of Cranston, Rhode Island, born on April 21, 1965, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, with her family by her side. She was a 1983 graduate of Pilgrim High School, where she was an active member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America. She continued her education by graduating from both Katherine Gibbs School and Costin’s Beauty Academy. She was a hairdresser. She was a practicing Catholic. She is survived by her mother, Janet N. Levasseur, her brothers, Anthony and Michael (Susan) Pennacchia, David Penn and Michael (Leslee) Levasseur; Uncle Guido Pennacchia; Aunt and Uncle Rita and James Steele; first cousin Katherine Pennacchia, many additional cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her long-time companion Pasquale “Pat” Candelmo, for over 34 years, father Normand Levasseur, father Anthony Pennacchia, Grandmother Ruth Phillips Place, and sisters-in-law Robin Penn and Susan Pennacchia.
A practicing Catholic, she was a kind, thoughtful person who always remembered the birthdays of many relatives and loved helping others, shopping, and going to yard sales. Her love for her family was evident in her interactions and her dedication to their special days. She loved music, having her hair and nails styled formally on a regular basis, and doing things in style. Her affection for her pets, including her beloved cats Tabitha and Garfield, was a testament to her nurturing nature. She was known for her smile and sense of humor.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, 02888. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Rose and Clement Parish, 111 Long Street, Warwick, RI, 02886, relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church. The burial will follow at Quidnesset Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown, R.I.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
