Lauryn Pregoni, a dedicated community advocate and professional, is excited to announce her candidacy for Cranston City Council. With deep family roots in Cranston and a strong commitment to the community she loves, Lauryn aims to bring fresh perspectives and dedicated leadership to the city.

“After meeting and learning from so many of my neighbors, it became clear that our community deserves more care and representation. I am committed to solving the issues that continue to hinder our city and working collaboratively to create a better future for all,” Lauryn stated.

After graduating from Roger Williams University with a degree in Anthropology and Sociology, Lauryn moved to San Diego to begin her career in Human Resources. She is now continuing her education at Roger Williams University School of Law. A long-distance runner, she often runs various routes throughout the city.

A Rhode Island native, Lauryn and her husband moved to Cranston after being drawn to the natural beauty of Meshanticut Lake and the welcoming community. “We were enamored by the view of Meshanticut Lake and the opportunity to settle in a place with easy access to nature and proximity to family,” said Lauryn.

Lauryn’s connection to Cranston runs deep, tracing back to her grandfather who proudly served as a Cranston City Councilman for eight years. Inspired by her grandfather's legacy, Lauryn is committed to continuing this tradition of service and dedication to the community.

“My mother was born and raised in Cranston on Norwood ave, and grew up, like any Cranston kid, attending community events like the Gaspee Days Parade and going to St. Paul’s church on Sunday. She shared so many fond memories from when my grandfather served on the City Council” Lauryn shared. “My family has taught me the importance of strength, integrity, and advocating for what I believe in, all values which I carry with me every day.”

Growing up, Lauryn spent significant time with her paternal grandparents, who relocated from Italy with her father and uncle when they were children. My Italian heritage and family helped foster a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and languages. “I was fortunate to learn Italian from my grandparents while learning English, and spending a lot of time with them gave me a unique bicultural perspective.”

Since moving to Cranston, Lauryn has been actively involved in community initiatives, particularly around green spaces and public access. She has worked tirelessly to improve Meshanticut State Park and Lake. Lauryn is running for City Council to ensure that Cranston remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. She believes in the power of community and is dedicated to addressing the issues that matter most to residents.

“I am excited to support Lauryn Pregoni for City-Wide Council. I believe that she has the leadership skills and the business background to be a great Council Person. She is ambitious, pays attention to detail and listens to people. She will stand up for what is right and will always vote with her conscience. I look forward to campaigning with her on her road to victory.” Democrat Mayoral Candidate Robert Ferri said about Lauryn.

Current Cranston City Council President Jessica Marino also shared the following, “I am excited to have Lauryn Pregoni join the Cranston Citywide Democratic candidate team. She is devoted to having a local government that is rooted in serving the public with integrity in a responsive and transparent way. She has the educational background and work experience needed to balance competing public interests as part of a government that is responsive to the needs and values of the people in our community.”

Lauryn invites all residents of Cranston to join her campaign and work together for a better Cranston. For more information, please visit pregoniforcranston.com or contact pregoni4cranston@gmail.com.
