Understanding the importance of managing other commonly occurring diseases, how they impact your diabetes and those conditions that diabetes put you at risk to have are the topics for this informational presentation.
RI Property Tax Relief
Claim (RI1040H) Kickoff
If you are not filing an income tax, but would like the RI Property Tax Relief Claim (RI1040H), the Social Services Division is here to help! In order to apply you must meet the following criteria: 65 years or older, or receiving disability (SSDI); have a household income of $30,000 or less; owned or rented a dwelling that was subject to property tax for all of 2014.
On Monday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., staff will be available to help. Clients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
All household members must bring the following documents: 1099 from 2014 Social Security (SSA1099); 1099s from all sources of 2014 income (bank, wages, pension, etc.); 2014 Property Taxes if you own a home; at least three rent receipts from 2014 if you rent an apartment that was subject to property tax.

90+ Celebration
In May, Mayor Allan Fung and the Cranston Department of Senior Services will, once again, host the 90+ Celebration. This annual celebration pays special tribute to all Cranston seniors who are 90 years of age or older – a great milestone in a person’s life. Our goal is to be able to identify present and past Cranston residents over 90 years of age. If you know of anyone who is 90 or older and is a past or present Cranstonian, please call our program director at 401-780-6216 with their name, address and phone number.
