The above story would be more interesting if it did not include inaccurate statements and offer only a single point of view. It reads like a promo ad for Bay View and a feature on Anna B (whom I have actually met). A simple fact check would have revealed that the second high school in RI offering varsity crew is the Lincoln School (https://www.lincolnschool.org/athletics/teams/crew), not Barrington (http://www.barringtonhigh.org/athletic-team-contact-info.html).

However, there appear to be 3 rowing clubs in RI that should have been noted in more detail by the author:

1. Narragansett Boat Club (NBC) has a high-quality program that has been around for decades. It generally operates similarly to a gym membership, but also boasts a separate competitive rower program. NBC is the host boathouse for both the Lincoln School and Bay View Academy.

2. East Bay Rowing (EBR) is an independent, non-profit club based in Barrington that welcomes rowers from anywhere: Barrington, Bristol, Portsmouth, Warren, Providence, Swansea MA, et al. EBR's competitive junior team has more athletes, male and female, than many HS varsity and junior varsity football teams combined, and is now in its sixth year. New in 2018, EBR also is supporting a sizable competitive adult (masters) team.

3. Finally, Osprey Rowing Club (ORC) which is based out of the URI boathouse in North Kingstown had been focused on junior rowers from Narragansett, South Kingstown, North Kingstown and The Prout School, though it now appears to welcome rowers from all over into its program. ORC is relatively new to the area also.

It's fantastic to see crew being discussed and see it expanding with great enthusiasm in RI, but please give proper credit to the Clubs and schools that are enabling it.
