The make-believe mayor should have followed the example of Rep. Vella-Wilkinson in how to honor our veterans, instead of insulting them.

Here's what he said about the lack of a Memorial Day parade, that was due to local organizers falling ill and needing medical attention: "Not having a Memorial Day Parade... is a disgraceful slap in the face of the Veterans who risked their lives for our freedom. I don't know who is to blame. But it's disgraceful."

By comparison, Rep. Vella-Wilkinson did not make such disgraceful comments -- she attended the city's memorial ceremony and personally honored the sacrifices of our veterans, and deserves credit for her work in the General Assembly to provide further benefits to them.

On Sept. 12, the make-believe mayor will get another lesson in bipartisanship, when honest, taxpaying voters from both parties overwhelmingly reject his candidacy.
