Registration for the fifth annual Camp XL, taking place from June 25 through August 3, is open for all Cranston students entering grade k-8 next school year until the registration deadline of June 13.
The entire six-week camp program runs at Bain Middle School on Gansett Avenue and is $700 per student for all six weeks, and a discount is available for all families who qualify for free/reduced lunch.
Registration includes daily breakfast, snack, and lunch, as well as field trips every Friday and a camp t-shirt.
The camp runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday with Wednesday, July 4 as the only day off.
Campers at Camp XL participate in a broad range of activities, including sports, photography, dance, creating musical instruments from recyclable materials, computer coding, and working on a garden hydroponics system. The camp programs take place inside and outside of the middle school.
Camp ends with “Kidpalooza” on August 3 at Tate Field (outside of Bain), when the entire community can go check out the student’s projects and there will be a bounce house, dunk tank, cotton candy, and more.
Registration for Camp XL is available at www.cranstonafterschool.com. More information, including a daily schedule for the camp, can be found by calling 270-8017 or at that website.
