The Providence County Grand Jury reported an indictment charging Joseph Barletta, age 27, of Cranston, with one count of first degree sexual assault (domestic) and one count of strangulation (domestic).
Barletta allegedly strangled a woman he was in a relationship with on July 22, then allegedly sexually assaulted the same woman on August 5. Cranston Police conducted the investigation on both counts, as both incidents took place in Cranston.
Barletta is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 15.
