The RSVP Volunteer Fair, held on July 23, was held to recruit volunteers to fill vacancies within RSVP’s Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) Grant.
The RSVP Department also has volunteer opportunities within the City of Cranston. Located within Cranston Senior Service, they had about 30 people over the age of 55, which is the minimum age to volunteer, inquire about the vacancies.
They were able to place eight volunteers the day of the RSVP Volunteer Fair. Vacancies were filled in the following areas: Scam/Fraud Prevention. Fall Prevention, “A Matter of Balance” Coach, VITA Program (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), CCAP’s Weatherization Program, CCAP’s Food Pantry, Cranston Enrichment Center’s Front Desk, Snack Bar, Dining Room and the RSVP’s Gift Shop.
