The R.I. Division of Motor Vehicles will offer an online reservation program for commercial driver license services beginning Wednesday, April 17 as the Division continues its operational improvement program.
Reservation programs have resulted in efficiency gains in some other DMVs nationwide, reducing wait-times for customers and providing more predictable demand patterns for DMV personnel.
Commercial Driver License holders will be able to secure a reservation at www.dmv.ri.gov by accessing the DMV Customer Reservations portal. The portal was open for use April 8 with the first appointments available beginning Wednesday, April 17.
CDL transactions join road tests and adjudication services in the DMV's well-received reservation program.
Visitors to the DMV Customer Reservations portal will be transferred to a third-party website – hosted by Stonewall Solutions – where they will find a list of transactions requiring reservations, as well as available service dates and times.
Online program will speed service for state's businesses;
visit www.dmv.ri.gov for details before arriving at DMV headquarters
