A large yard sale was held at the Warwick Animal Hospital on Aug. 26 with proceeds going to benefit Defenders of Animals.
Defenders of Animals and the Warwick Animal Hospital work together assisting pet owners and stray animals with medical emergencies and routine medical care. When funds are available, Defenders of Animals will assist pet owners financially when they can’t afford medical treatment or their pets.
The event raised $1,205 with more than 200 people attending throughout the day.
Some of the items for sale were jewelry, clothing, art work and home goods along with a raffle for pet baskets, gift certificates and two round-trip tickets on the Block Island Ferry. There was also a Penny Social with items provided by Warwick Animal Hospital.
