When winter draws near, many wonder whether they should get the flu shot. For many, the flu is a mild illness, causing fever, cough, chills, sore throat and body aches. But some – especially the elderly, young children and many with chronic disease – are at risk of serious complications. While not perfect, the seasonal influenza vaccine is the best way to protect against the influenza viruses. Come on in and be sure to bring your insurance card.

This disorder of the nerves can cause weakness, numbness, tingling and pain that can become very severe and debilitating. At this presentation, we will discuss the causes, signs, symptoms and treatments. You will also learn what health conditions are most often associated with its onset.
A Matter of Balance:
Take a Stand to Prevent Falls
Wednesdays and Fridays, 9-11:30 a.m.
Beginning Oct. 23, ending Nov. 15
This free, award-winning program for participants age 60 or older is designed to help manage falls and increase activity levels.
You will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals to increase your activity, make changes to reduce the risk of falling and use exercise to increase your balance. Registration is required, and space is limited. Call 780-6000.
